Yesterday I had an offer on this red '80 FLH as a partial trade on my Shoebox....hmmm, tempting, as you maybe know I owned a '80 FLH some 20 years ago, it was stolen from my house and I just have this and two other pics as a memory, it was my second shovelhead but only had it for 3 months or so, motherfuckers !

Periodically smoking marijuana doesn't appear to hurt lung capacity, the largest study ever conducted on pot smokers has found.
Even though most marijuana smokers tend to inhale deeply and hold the smoke in for as long as they can before exhaling, the lung capacity didn't deteriorate even among those who smoked a joint a day for seven years or once a week for 20 years, according to the study published Tuesday in JAMA, the journal of the American Medical Association.
The analyses showed pot didn't appear to harm lung function, but cigarettes did. Cigarette smokers' test scores worsened steadily during the study.
They measured lung function multiple times in more than 5,100 men and women during a 20-year period. In fact, the research shows, some people who regularly smoke marijuana can have a slight improvement in lung function.

Last night we moved things around a bit, running projects were swapped for none running ones. Cars that have been waiting outside in the cold got a place inside our clubhouse to warm up a bit.
We realized we had a pretty cool line-up of cars on this december-night; a '37 Ford truck, '37 Plymouth Business Coupe, a '47 Dodge Panel truck and peeping behind the panel a '59 Apache, that ready to drop-in engine you see there is a hefty 512cu. Mopar waiting to go in club member's Sasha '65 Coronet wheelstander...it's gonna be a great summer.

Just found these pics from a few months ago while cleaning up my phone. Me and the FlakeKings went to see the Lords of Altamont play during their last world tour.

While playing sold out venues troughout Europe and the US this here concert in the Netherlands drew about 25 people....legendary MC5 Michael Davis wasn´t present but singer Jake Cavaliere and former Cramps drummer Harry Drumdini couldn't care less and played like there was no tommorow, no setting fire to the Farfisa organ or B-movies this time but combined with a never boring gogo-girl made the whole trip worth while.

This is the shit nobody ever will notice but takes hours to fabricate. First I split an old piece of scrap-pipe into pieces. The curve looked to fit my fender. I made a template from cardboard and grinded them down to 4 equal pieces. Then welded together two by two and carefully curved the edges. That took about the whole evening but there was a little time left to move the oilbag tab to gain a little more carb clearance...an evening well spent !

Guess I personally take blame for the death of a hunger starved family of 12, deep in the Gobi-Desert.
Resume; 4 sausage rolls saturday morning and a bag of chunky fried fish that afternoon followed by a hefty pre-drinking meal later that evening. A full plate of snacks while drinking with good friends later that night and a few bags of peanuts later that morning and another few beers to gobble it all down.
Sunday was no better, a family bbq in the woods with sausages and hot potatoes from the open fire, and leaving behind another circle of beer cans. The whole binge made me a bit sleepy but that was cured by a bag of marshmellows from that same fire, washed away with a few mugs of coffee..burp.

Absolutely Nothing ! Don't read on, this is only to ventilate my own frustration.
Let me recapture for a minute; April 2010 I finally gathered enough parts to get started, when the donor bike came in a few months later I promised myself a first test-drive late summer, early autumn. Later that winter I made myself another false promise some riding could be done in spring 2011.
Now almost October another season passed and outside the weather is still beautiful. The 'almost done' bike is still at my buddies workshop and whenever I have a few spare hours he's not there and vice versa.
Got some tabs to weld, a few brackets, buy some small parts, some big parts like a generator and a completely new clutch setup. Then it's time for a test-spin and total breakdown. After that it's time for some more chrome and a paint job. It's not that I don't want to, I think about that thing all goddamn day, seems somehow some higher power just won't let me get into it !

Time for regrets maybe ? Sadly holding on to the past ? Should I've never sell the shovelhead ? Why did I virtually give away those sweet little Honda 750's, should at least kept one, only to just take it for a spin when the weather is right ? Why is no one buying my price-drop Shoebox so I can speed up things or get a second 'ready to drive' bike ?
Aah, what the hell, I just spotted 5 leftover beers in the fridge, I'll gobble 'm all down and start looking for tomorrow's beaver shots, that'll make me feel better...

I found the tattoo on the first three ones easily, but that 4th picture got me puzzled, she must be hiding it behind those hands !?
Anyway, after 4 weeks of total relaxation this first workweek drained most of my just regained energy. Work sucks and doesn't even pay the bills, luckily the weekend is just hours away and a hot weather BBQ with friends is on the menu.

In case you wondered; yes my Shoebox is still for sale. But the paint got some beating over the last 2 years, a steel pipe fell on the hood the first week it returned from the paint shop, I lost both skirts at some time cruisin' down the highway and at the last Bottrop Kustom Kulture Show a strong wind blew a vendors tent all over it scratching the paint on the sides and roof.
So a new paint job is on the way within the next few weeks so all I'm saying is; if the Copper paintjob was holding you back of buying it speak now or be sorry later !
